This book introduces the great Arab pioneering geographists to the Arab students and educated people.

These geographists were the minarets of their times, by whom the surrounding nations are guided. They were, truly, at the level of the message that Allah had ordained them to carry. He who studies the science of geography in the Arab world finds great difficulties because of the scarcity of the Arabic geographic works since most of them were published in Europe and in very little numbers. One can "find some copies of such book only in big libraries. It is very difficult to acces to them even by scholars, in addition to the fact that some of them is still in manuscript copies waiting for young researchers to uncover their treasures.

This book "Prominent Arab Geographists - and Extracts from their Works" presents about forty of them respectfully with giving special interest to their earlier journeys which played a main role in the great commercial currents that attract admiration of the enthusiasm and patience of the explorers.

The book contains tens of pictures and rare maps as a means to help understanding the text and following up the discoveries.

It, also, contains brief biographies in few lines defining the rest of the Arab geographists whom the book does not mention in details.
